Drama is the most popular and the oldest form of theatrical art. Drama has been defined in a variety of ways: as a literary work in prose or verse; as one of the fine arts, such as painting, sculpture, and architecture; and in performance. Drama may refer to: A written work when it is meant to be converted into a movie or any other audio-visual form A play The performing arts for stage, TV or film that features dialogue between characters Tragedy - The event that drives the plot of a given dramatic text Comedy - The event that drives the plot of comedy drama texts The form fills literature with passions not found in history books. It is not known when the dialogue began in drama. It is generally attributed to Greek dramatists. The history of drama is inseparable from the history of theatre. Drama was the first form of art formed in ancient Greece and ancient Rome; and, indeed, it was one of the earliest forms in which literature has been formed. The earliest written examples come from ancient Greece: Sophocles, Aeschylus and Aristophanes are more influential than any other Ancient Greek writers. Roman authors were also very influential on English literature through their translations of Roman texts into Elizabethan English. These became the models for English writers such as William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe. drama types: on the Drama: Youth theatre, or children's theatre, is theatre for young people, typically those between infancy and the age of majority. There are several ways of classifying youth theatre: by the audience it is aimed at, by its subject matter and content, and by its employment of young people. Youth theatre may be performed as a part of children's or community festivals. It may also form a significant part of education in history and drama classes within undergraduate or post-graduate programmes in schools, colleges and universities. The performance is typically related to the audience by an emphasis on participatory projects. Youth theatre is also often concerned with social issues in an educational manner in relation to history and drama in school curricula. From "Experiences From the Dramatics in Classroom" (2010) by Hilmar Hjalmarsson, translated into English by Jim Selinger is a list of plays that can be performed in the classroom by students of different ages. The plays are grouped according to age level at which they are suitable. While most of these plays were written with younger students in mind, they can be adapted for older students as well, with appropriate adjustments for their maturity level. These plays can be performed in a variety of ways, from individual rehearsals to a student-run theatre. In community theatres, children learn acting skills and their confidence is boosted. They also learn stage techniques and develop their self-esteem whilst performing in front of a live audience. A community theatre can be a way for children to explore new ideas and fulfil their creative potential at the same time as they are developing skills that will stand them in good stead later on in their lives. cfa1e77820
